  • The irony isn’t lost on me. I spend my days helping businesses show up consistently online, yet when it comes to creating content for my own business, you’ll usually find me deep in a branding project instead. But here’s the thing: Your brand isn’t built by posting every day. It’s built by showing up consistently with a clear message, a recognisable visual identity, and a customer experience that backs it all up. A reel might get someone’s attention. A strong brand is what makes them remember you. So if you’ve been beating yourself up for not posting enough lately, focus on the foundations first. The content becomes a whole lot easier when the brand behind it is doing the heavy lifting.
  • Want a brand experience that feels as thoughtful as the business behind it? ✨ The best branding doesn’t just look beautiful.
It captures your values, connects with your clients, and gives your business the confidence to grow with clarity and consistency. Joel from New Style Property Group shared that one of the biggest standouts of the process was how deeply we explored the business itself- the values, future vision, and client experience behind the brand. Because great design is never just about aesthetics.
It’s about creating a brand that genuinely feels like you. #branddesign #australiangraphicdesigner
  • When Joel from New Style Property Group came to me, his vision was clear: he wanted a real estate brand that felt professional, classy, recognisable, and consistent. But more than that, he wanted something that reflected his unique approach to property. Joel’s business isn’t just about buying and selling homes. It’s about helping clients present their properties beautifully, reducing stress, and guiding them through some of life’s biggest milestones with genuine care. With a Pinterest board filled with rich jewel tones, Art Deco details and elegant typography, we developed a brand that was refined and distinctive, but still approachable and welcoming. Because while Joel offers a premium level of service, the brand needed to feel warm and human, not overly luxurious or intimidating. One of my favourite elements to create was the custom geometric pattern. Inspired by Art Deco design, this pattern weaves together subtle illustrations that tell the story of the business:
🛏️ A bed, representing property styling
🏠 A house, symbolising home and real estate
🌳 Trees, reflecting community and place
💡 Lamps and interiors, highlighting thoughtful presentation The pattern creates a visual language that can grow with the business as new services and sub-brands are introduced over time. The final identity feels exactly as Joel envisioned:
✔ Sophisticated but approachable
✔ Stylish but grounded
✔ Professional yet personal
✔ Designed to grow alongside the business At its heart, New Style Property Group is about more than property. It’s about service, presentation, and helping people move confidently into their next chapter. And that’s exactly what the brand was designed to reflect. ✨ Australia | Brand Identity & Custom Website
  • There’s a reason why I don’t design ‘just a logo.’ It’s because you’d be missing out on all this! ☝🏻 Helping me illustrate my point is the new brand for the nicest guy in real estate, Joel from @joelrugenewstyleproperty When you have a visual brand (vs just a logo) you have: 👉🏼 Confidence (you have a framework around which everything you create visually is based), 👉🏼 Cohesiveness (everything works together to deliver your message consistently) 👉🏼 Credibility (you can’t deliver a premium service without looking the part!) Still want ‘just a logo?’
  • Honest conversations make better brands 🌿 These are some of the questions I’ve had over the years… and the unfiltered answers. I’m an open book- so ask away! Are there any questions you’ve always wanted to ask about working with a graphic designer?
  • I’ve been involved in many discussions about AI and its use in business of late, and don’t get me wrong, it can be very valuable! But let’s see how it stacks up against a graphic designer… AI might be fast, convenient and cheap, but it can’t replace: Human intuition Originality Strategy + Intention Taste + Refinement Soul! {P.S it also won’t generate all of the correct logo files for you, or tell you how to use them!}
  • For the past few weeks I’ve had the privilege of helping the Motherland team prepare for their 2026 National Conference, held in my home town of Toowoomba. I loved putting together everything printed and digital for the two day conference and gala dinner, but the best bit? Actually getting to attend. For those that haven’t heard of @motherlandaustralia - it is the creation of the amazing Steph Trethewey, who first-hand experienced the isolation of being a mother in rural Australia- far from any mother’s groups or cafe meet ups with friends (which was absolutely what got me through the first years of motherhood!) So she embarked on a journey to bring that connection and support to all of the mothers who live rurally or remotely all over Australia, through her amazing podcast, book and online mothers groups. And this, their second biennial conference, allowed members of their community to meet in real life and connect belly to belly, and take time to fill their cups as women, away from the pressures of motherhood and life. It was absolutely awe-inspiring, listening to stories of mums who have shown immense resilience, grit and determination and, most importantly, vulnerability across the two days. Amazing take aways from Gina Chick and her message of sitting with discomfort and rising above it, Gen Muir @connectedparentingau - who assured all of us the being a good parent 30% of the time is all we need (with amazing tips on how to do that) @caitlin.crowley.journo with her heart-wrenching story and message that we can have experience grief and struggles AND joy and hope, @_juliegoodwin making me tear up with her amazing story and message of ‘self care is not selfish’ and that we must ‘choose our hard.’ And just so much more. So I want to thank the amazing team at @motherlandaustralia for a conference that thought of every little thing, and the wonderful women in the room who helped me fill my cup and taught me so much. Thinking of you all as you travel home back to capital R reality.
  • I spoke with two business owners this week who had invested thousands into their website builds… but had no idea how to make even the smallest change. They couldn’t update a photo. They couldn’t change their opening hours. And that’s a problem. Your website should belong to you. Not just legally, but practically. You should feel confident making simple updates if you want to. Adding a new service. Updating your pricing. Adding photos to a gallery. Fulfilling orders and changing inventory. Not every business owner wants to manage their own site, and that’s completely fine. But you should have the option. You should understand your platform. You should have access. You should feel empowered. The right platform isn’t the fanciest one. It’s the one that suits you. Your skills. Your confidence. Your capacity. Your business. Because a good website isn’t just beautiful. It’s usable. And it puts you in the driver’s seat. — Bird & Branch websites are designed to be both beautiful and approachable, so you always feel in control of your own brand. The @thelittleflowershopallora chose Squarespace for their website platform. Easy to create new products, manage orders and make simple changes, but powerful with in-built SEO and email functionality. If your current website feels confusing, locked down, or intimidating, it might not be the right foundation for your next season of growth, so let’s chat!

When Joel from New Style Property Group came to me, his vision was clear: he wanted a real estate brand that felt professional, classy, recognisable, and consistent.

There’s a reason why I don’t design ‘just a logo.’ It’s because you’d be missing out on all this! ☝🏻 Helping me illustrate my point is the new brand for the nicest guy in real estate, Joel from @joelrugenewstyleproperty When you have a visual brand (vs just a logo) you have: 👉🏼 Confidence (you have a framework around which everything you create visually is based), 👉🏼 Cohesiveness (everything works together to deliver your message consistently) 👉🏼 Credibility (you can’t deliver a premium service without looking the part!) Honest conversations make better brands 🌿 These are some of the questions I’ve had over the years… and the unfiltered answers. I’m an open book- so ask away! Are there any questions you’ve always wanted to ask about working with a graphic designer?

I’ve been involved in many discussions about AI and its use in business of late, and don’t get me wrong, it can be very valuable! But let’s see how it stacks up against a graphic designer… AI might be fast, convenient and cheap, but it can’t replace: Human intuition Originality Strategy + Intention Taste + Refinement Soul! {P.S it also won’t generate all of the correct logo files for you, or tell you how to use them!}

For the past few weeks I’ve had the privilege of helping the Motherland team prepare for their 2026 National Conference, held in my home town of Toowoomba.

I spoke with two business owners this week who had invested thousands into their website builds… but had no idea how to make even the smallest change.
