Hi, I’m Renae

Hi, I’m Renae

My passion is helping business owners tell their stories through design, elevating their visual identity and helping them to connect with their dream clients (and feel confident and aligned to smash their biz goals!)

Your brand served you well when you first started… but lately it’s starting to feel a bit like that pair of jeans you used to love - comfortable once, but now they don’t quite fit the same (and they’ve got that weird stretch bubble at the top of your thighs)

Your brand should grow with you - not hold you back.

If you’re nodding along to a few of these signs, it might be time to take a closer look at whether your visual identity still fits the business you’ve become.

A rebrand doesn’t mean scrapping everything, it means refining what’s working, evolving the rest, and designing something that feels like you, today.

💭 Curious if it’s time? Send me a message and let’s chat about where your brand is at.

Your brand might already have a personality, a vibe, a style.
But a brand persona?
That’s when things start to click.

A brand persona takes personality one step further.

It turns your brand into a someone.

Someone with quirks, a specific tone of voice, a way of showing up.
Someone you can actually picture when you’re writing captions, designing graphics, or planning how to show up online.

Think of it as your brand’s alter ego.
The filter you run every piece of content through.
Would they say it like that?
Would they use emojis?
Would they tell that story, or choose a different angle?

When I worked on the @roofspacerenovators brand, we channelled a very specific “someone”:
Scott Cam.

Practical. Straight-shooting. Friendly, but no-nonsense.
The kind of Aussie tradie who shows up on time, explains things clearly, and actually enjoys helping you get the job done right.

When you know your brand persona, consistency becomes effortless — because you’re not guessing anymore. You’re just channelling a personality that’s already alive and well inside your brand, and that is what your customers will connect with.

Want a starting point to finding out your brand's persona?
Comment 'alter ego' and I'll send you a link to a free quiz that my mate Clare @thehumanelements has made!

Today I spent some time going through my daughter’s room to make space for her 7th birthday haul this week. I was making piles to donate and pass on to friends, which is an exercise always fraught, as she struggles to let go of things she’s grown out of, whether it is clothing, toys or books. As I explained to her the importance of letting go of what isn’t serving us any more, to make space for new things, it got me thinking about what we’re ‘hoarding’ in our business, especially within our branding.

You might have a logo which saw you through the start-up phase that you are very attached to, but is it now working for your business, or do you need to let go, and look at a new visual direction that fits the direction you want to head in your business? Is keeping that original brand (or being hesitant to invest in a new one) actually holding you back from reaching your ideal customer, and your goals?

Some food for thought- we know we can always use a good old declutter, so that our homes (and businesses) don’t end up as an episode of Hoarders!

(On a totally related note- does anyone else have the millennial collection of Beanie Kids up in their cupboards that they can’t possibly bear to part with?)

You don’t just get a few logo files and a wave goodbye in these parts.

You receive an entire brand identity. No questioning how to actually use your brand- with your brand guidelines, you’ll receive info on how to use your logo files, what fonts to use, your colours and their info, plus pages on how your brand should look and feel when in use.

What does this mean? It means that you aren’t spending hours staring at Canva wondering what to create, or confusing your customers with a brand that one minute feels premium and the next belongs in the bargain bin.

Your brand = confidence and clarity to hit your business goals!

  • While I usually build my sites in WordPress, the Riley’s View site found its home on Squarespace - and for good reason.

My client wanted something simple to update and manage themselves, without any technical headaches. Squarespace’s drag-and-drop editor was the perfect fit - easy to learn, beautifully intuitive, and still flexible enough to bring their brand to life.

Sometimes the best platform is the one that fits your needs, not just the designer’s toolbox 💻🌿
  • Introducing the brand for @rileysviewmtkilcoy - a breathtaking new wedding and events venue nestled in the hills of Kilcoy, Queensland.

This brand was crafted to capture the venue’s effortless elegance, heartfelt hospitality, and connection to nature. With a refined magnolia motif and soft neutral tones, the identity reflects both sophistication and warmth - the perfect match for a space designed to host life’s most meaningful celebrations.

Riley’s View is more than just a venue - it’s a place where every detail feels intentional, and every celebration tells a story.

And when I say the views are breathtaking, they truly are!
  • You’ve poured your heart into your business, and now you’re ready for a brand that reflects that. You might be feeling stuck with visuals that no longer match your direction, or maybe you’re just starting out and want to get it right from the beginning. You know that branding is more than just a pretty logo- it’s your story, your values, your personality. I work with passionate, soul-led business owners who are ready to invest in branding and design that feels like them and connects with the people they’re here to serve.

Whether it is new branding for your biz, a custom website, social media graphics or design for your next event or promotion, I can bring your story to life through thoughtful, strategic design.

  • Hi I'm Renae, the designer behind Bird & Branch, and a small business owner myself.

I understand the messy middle, the to-do list overwhelm, the perfectionism trap. But I also know how powerful it is when your brand truly feels like you. With a degree in visual arts and communication and over a decade in design, I’ve seen how branding can transform not just how a business looks, but how it’s understood, remembered, and valued.

When I'm not designing beautiful brands, you’ll find me running a music shop with my musician husband, parenting two energetic little humans, or indulging my inner nanna with cross-stitch, cuppas, and board games (rules are non-negotiable). I’m a left-handed, trombone-playing introvert with a deep love of storytelling. Writing, art or music, they’re all different ways of telling a story and I love them all, but ultimately they achieve the same thing- emotion and connection.

I love working with passionate, values-led business owners who care deeply about what they do and want their branding to reflect that.

People with big hearts, thoughtful ideas, and a story worth telling.

Does this sound like you? I'd love to help you out!
Say hey on Instagram!

Brand guidelines for the stunning @rileysviewmtkilcoy

While I usually build my sites in WordPress, the Riley’s View site found its home on Squarespace - and for good reason.

And when I say the views are breathtaking, they truly are!

Hi I'm Renae, the designer behind Bird & Branch, and a small business owner myself.
