Hi, I’m Renae

Hi, I’m Renae

My passion is helping business owners tell their stories through design, elevating their visual identity and helping them to connect with their dream clients (and feel confident and aligned to smash their biz goals!)

Follow On Instagram

I’m not usually one for choosing a word of the year, but this year moved at the speed of a freight train and before I climb back on for 2026, I felt a strong pull to pause and set a few intentions for how I’d actually like the year to feel.
Spoiler: significantly less chaotic.

So when the lovely Jodi from @meraki_visionboards invited me along to her very first Vision Board workshop, I didn’t hesitate.

From the moment you stepped into her beautiful space, everything felt considered and calm. A delicious cocktail on arrival, tables layered with magazines, papers and quotes, gentle guidance throughout and the most incredible canapés appearing at all the right moments. It was an evening of intention, connection and quiet reflection… the good kind that stays with you.

I can’t recommend these workshops enough. Whether you’re dreaming up a future home, mapping out your year ahead, or simply giving yourself permission to create, it’s a really special experience to do solo or alongside friends.

Go and give @meraki_visionboards a follow. Jodi has January dates open, and if you’ve been craving a reset, this is a beautiful place to start.

And my word for next year?

Space.

For breathing.
For the things that light me up.
And for doing absolutely nothing at all.

So much of a brand lies beneath the logo and colours.

It is a veritable iceberg of personality, goals, values and vibes. The foundations begin with properly understanding your audience, their desires and frustrations, and then discovering the personality behind your brand- and how it will interact with its ideal customers.

Once we understand these things, only then do we start on the visuals.

The Educator’s Burrow draws on Miss Honey and Zoe Foster Blake’s personality and vibes, and the final visuals are fun yet gentle, optimistic, and creative - appealing to educators who value individuality, charm, and a little bit of sparkle in their everyday classroom life.

Feel like your brand is lacking personality and strong foundations? My 2 Birds, 1 Brand package with @thehumanelements is what you need! #brandspecialist #logoreveal #australiangraphicdesigner

  • This year, not only did I get to witness my favourite animal up close and personal in the wild, but I got to incorporate one into a brand as well! 😍

Together with the amazing Clare from @thehumanelements I had the absolute pleasure of working with Annalise to rebrand, re-name (and reveal) The Educator’s Burrow.

Annalise’s business (formerly known as Teach with Annalise) began as a side hustle built around little people (and certain lockdowns of 2020). She came to us wanting to transition from her DIY, informal “cutesy” brand, to a more professional, cohesive identity that still felt warm, relatable, and approachable. She wanted the branding to reflect the expert support she offers Australian teachers — particularly in areas like curriculum design, inclusive education, and real-world maths — while still feeling personal - one teacher helping out another!

It was important to have a real Aussie feel, and as soon as Annalise mentioned the possibility of incorporating a wombat into the brand, I jumped at the chance of getting to design with my fav animal!

The result? A brand that was grounded, with nature-inspired charm — playful but not childish, nostalgic but fresh.

We developed a range of ‘sticker-style’ brand elements to tap into the beloved teacher trope of stickers and stationery - adding layers of personality and fun. This also nods to millennial nostalgia (hello gel pens and scratch ‘n’ sniff stickers) while naturally resonating with Gen Z educators who live in GIFs, emojis, and animations.

Enjoy the reveal of one of my favourite projects for 2025, and if you’re one of my teacher friends- head on over and check out @theeducatorsburrow
  • Every strong brand starts with a clear direction. And for me, that begins with moodboards.

It’s not just an excuse to scroll Pinterest (though I won’t lie - that’s a fun bonus), it’s because moodboards help shape the visual foundation of your brand.

They’re a vibe check. Where abstract ideas- the words you use to describe your business, the feelings you want your clients to have, the story behind what you do [everything we discover in our initial chats and questionnaires] form a visual compass - a way to check that you and I are on the same page and that the look and feel we’re building truly aligns with your brand’s personality and goals.

When we nail this step, the brand creation - the logos, colours and fonts - falls into place much faster!

It’s not just pretty pictures… it’s strategy in visual form.

  • Let’s talk about value vs price when it comes to websites.

Sure - you can get a website built for a few hundred dollars. But a beautiful, strategic website isn’t just about putting your logo on a template.

It’s about:

- Understanding your audience and what they need from you (and creating a site that is easy for them to buy/book you!).
- Creating a design that feels like your brand.
- Setting you up with tools and training so you can manage it with confidence.
- Setting you up with tools and training so you can manage it with confidence.

A website should work for you - not just exist online.

It’s the home of your brand, your digital first impression, your 24/7 shopfront. And that takes thought, collaboration, and care.

So before you jump at the cheapest quote, pause and ask: does this reflect the heart of my business?
  • You’ve got a new brand that you absolutely love, but how do you launch it into the world?

In this final post from our 3-part Gemma Nugent Legal rebrand series, I’m sharing my top tips for rolling out your new brand with confidence (and zero chaos).

✨ When you book a Rebrand Package with Bird & Branch, you’ll also receive my Brand Launch Guide - packed with checklists and advice to help you nail your debut.

Every strong brand starts with a clear direction.

Every strong brand starts with a clear direction. And for me, that begins with moodboards.

Let’s talk about value vs price when it comes to websites.
